Postial and Buffer, side by side

Postial prices are monthly in EUR including VAT. Vendor prices below are in USD; no currency conversion or like-for-like savings claim is made. A brand is a client workspace grouping; a channel or social account is one connected profile. Several brands can require many more accounts than brands. Confirm your exact account mix, taxes and checkout terms before buying. Unconfirmed means not established from the linked sources, not that a feature is absent.

Where Postial fits better

Postial’s Agency offer combines 15 brands and 5 users for €49/month including VAT, with login-free client review and REST API/webhooks available today, and a native n8n node shown as “Postial” in n8n. One monthly price does not grow when a client adds a profile. It fits a small team seeking this specific workflow and German hosting, provided early-access availability meets its needs.

Where Buffer fits better

Buffer is the stronger fit when you need its listed Bluesky and Mastodon channels alongside Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and more, a permanent free plan, or per-channel billing that scales one account at a time. Team adds approval workflows and unlimited team members. Agencies dependent on these capabilities should validate Postial’s narrower rollout before moving. [1]

Who should not switch yet

Do not switch yet if a client needs a network outside the live Bluesky, Mastodon, Telegram set, if you rely on Buffer’s free plan or its per-channel flexibility across many accounts, or if an early-access provider condition cannot be accepted. X, Threads, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook connections are not the same as a generally available publishing guarantee. [1]

What Postial does not have

Postial does not currently offer a free tier, Buffer’s broad documented channel catalogue, or its per-channel billing model, and the monthly price stays the same whether or not that model would have been cheaper. It also makes no promise of automatic history import, and early-access provider connections remain subject to their conditions. [1]

The workflow, including a failed post

Review without another account

On Agency, create a client approval link. The reviewer can inspect and decide without a Postial login; the approval result remains part of the post workflow.

If publishing fails

Postial shows publishing status and clear errors, with retries available. Check the affected post, correct the provider or content issue, then retry; do not assume a failed post was published.

Before moving everything

Run one client through the 14-day trial, verify each profile, and keep unsupported or early-access networks in the existing tool until your test succeeds.

How to switch

  1. 1. Map one client first

List the client’s profiles, formats, scheduled posts and reviewers. Check which integrations and early-access features are live in your Postial workspace.

  2. 2. Pilot the approval flow

Start the 14-day trial without a card. Recreate a small set of drafts and, when enabled, test an Agency approval link with a reviewer. Check publishing status and recovery before expanding.

  3. 3. Move only verified workflows

Reconnect supported profiles and rebuild schedules in small batches. Remove duplicate scheduled posts in the old tool. Keep unsupported networks there until Postial support is available; no automatic history import is promised.

Frequently asked questions

Is Postial cheaper than Buffer for a multi-brand agency?

Postial Agency lists €49/month including VAT for 5 users and 15 brands. Buffer bills per channel: 15 brands with one channel each on Team would cost $150/month on annual billing, and more with several accounts per brand. Currencies, billing periods and capabilities differ; these are not equivalent bundles.

Can Buffer clients approve posts without a login?

The checked pricing page lists content approval workflows for team members on the Team plan, but does not establish login-free external approval links. Confirm that workflow with Buffer. Postial provides login-free Agency client links today.

Does Buffer have a free plan Postial does not match?

Yes. Buffer lists a free plan for up to 3 channels with 10 scheduled posts per channel. Postial’s entry point is the 14-day trial without a card; there is no permanent free tier.

Do both tools automate with n8n?

Buffer lists n8n among its integrations and API access on every plan. Postial Agency includes REST API and webhooks today, and the native n8n node is on npm as n8n-nodes-postial 0.2.0 and appears as “Postial” inside n8n.
